Just learning how to use LJ-Cut AGAIN since it didn't work for me last time. >_>
So I will just be ranting on peeves and.....stuff? XD;
Okay, so just on some pet peeves about the anime fans at school. I'm sure this concerns all of you, but then again I can/might be wrong. Sorry but I type anime tards instead, since I'm kinda used to it. ANYWAY!
These typical Western anime tards love anime, right? Of course they do! But here's the problem, do they REALLY like it? Do they REALLY see what values are in Japan BESIDES anime and manga? I THINK NOT. Well, in my case anyway.
These are my peeves, please do not get offended if you are like this anyway. These are all examples that I've WITNESSED, EXPERIENCED, ETC., which means it doesn't represent ALL Western anime tards, unless what you've witnessed is similar to what I am going to say.
1) ANIMEANIMEANIMEANIMEANIME--Wait, what's that anime?
Okay, so I know that my WHOLE anime club doesn't even know what Hetalia or even K-On! is. Seriously, they don't even know. Here are the only animes or mangas they know: Naruto, Bleach, Inuyasha, Ouran High School Host Club, Vampire Knight, Death Note, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Fruits Basket. I'm sure they know a few more, but they only know those as far as I can tell. Honestly I don't like any of those except Pokemon, since I grew up with it. EVERY single time I bring up a fandom I am in, they'd question "What is that???" I brought up Prince of Tennis, Shakugan no Shana, Elemental Gelade, and Hetalia only, since I don't jump fandoms rapidly like them. They knew NOTHING. So you can say I'm the true loner of the club.
2) COMIC CONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!
I mentioned Anime Expo to them. Yeah. They were like, "What's that a new convention thing???" How do you NOT know about something that's only one hour away from you? They only know COMIC CON. And Comic Con isn't so great. I even told them of YAOI CON and they were like, "There's a con like THAT?!" I was a little disappointed...
3) I'M GONNA LEARN JAPANESE AND GO TO JAPAN! THEN I WILL LIVE THERE!
.......I understand you're making your own manga, but do you even know Japanese....? Just wondering, because all I've ever heard you say was "Watashi wa ____ desu. Konnichiwa. Sayonara. Arigatou. ____-sempai. Kawaii!" Heck, do you even know how to respond to the ANSWERS you will get from a fluent Japanese speaker? Just because you know greetings doesn't mean you know the responses. Unless they, for some reason, abuse you physically and walk away, then you know they want you to fuck off. Other than that, do you know how to react? And every single person in that anime club doesn't attempt to perfect their Japanese. Yeah, you sure do want to go SO BADLY. >_>;
4) I wanna go to Japan! LONG LIVE JAPAN! JAPAN IS THE BEST! (continued)
This is my BIGGEST, HUGEST peeve about them. Just because Japan can entertain them with anime and manga, they WORSHIP it like it's their religion. And when people are talking about how the Japanese did something in history, they'd get all defensive and try to defend the Japanese. No country had a peaceful history, guys, calm down....Oh yeah, and my #1 peeve. They go to Japan JUST for the anime and manga. NOT the culture. Sad, isn't it?
I asked an anime tard "Hey, which prefecture are you going to live in if you DO go live there?"
Anime tard: ".............Uhhhh....what's....I dunno but I'm going to live in Tokyo, Japan! What's a prefecture, is that like, a city?"
Me: ".........No......um....never mind about that, what are you going to do about the earthquakes then? I mean, California is pretty bad enough, but Japan is worse. They had recen--"
Anime tard: "THEY HAVE EARTHQUAKES IN JAPAN?!?!?!?!?!"
Me: ".....Uhhh.....YEAH.....how can you not know that? You want to live in Japan, you should at least KNOW about it."
Anime tard: "PSHHHH well, I can't learn EVERYTHING now."
^^^^^ This conversation just ruined my day that day. : | It makes my heart bleed knowing there's people like this.
5) I'M SO COOL I'M SMOKIN' WEED. HURHURHUR. SHUT UPPPPPP! NO YOU BITCH!
Just saying....they act like wanna-be gangsters. Oh wait. They ARE wanna-be gangsters. They keep talking about weed and cocaine or something of the sort. I don't remember. I zoned out and doodled because I hate when they talk. But the 'higher uppers' always act like they're the gangster of the group. Oh yeah. And the sluts who think they're all that. When they know they are superior to the anime club and they control it because they're seniors, they act like super preps. Really annoying.
6) OH THEY'RE HOLDING HANDS! YAOI YAOI YAOI YAOI YAOI YAOI YAOI!!
PLEASE. IT'S CALLED SHONEN-AI. There's a freaking difference!!! Don't use the word if you only THINK you know what it is! Mostly, they abuse that word. I heard this girl say: LOOK I DREW YAOI! And so since I am quite a yaoi fan myself (nothing too hardcore though), I decided to check it out then leave. I hear everyone go "Awwwww" or "WOOOOOOOOOO" or "EWWWW". So I guess it is yaoi. When I went to see it, it was just two guys holding each other. 8| So I spoke out and said, "Uhhhh that's not yaoi. Tha--" Then they interupt me and say "NO it IS yaoi!!! What do you think it is? Yuri? Yuri is GIRLS, Debbie, not BOYS." I tried to say: "But it's sho--" and then interupted again by: "Get your Japanese right. It's yaoi!" I couldn't help but facepalm mentally and physically. And I snapped and said "IT'S SHONEN-AI YOU FUCKING RETARDS. YOU GET YOUR JAPANESE RIGHT!" Then I walked away, so I don't know what happened after that. But yeah, there's a difference. Shonen-ai = Boy love, while Yaoi = Guy SEX. What's sad is they don't know what shonen-ai is.
.....I think that's it. You can comment on your anime club if you want.

We had this one kid who was a Narutard. He talked about nothing else and was always on and on about Naruto. He actually overthrew the president one day, and all he did was have a Naruto trivia contest. It was horrible.
The president and I tried so hard to get them interested in the culture and history of Japan and failed miserably. Really disappointing :(
I wish you luck and lend you strength. You're going to need it ♥
No one CARED about Japanese culture???? WTF IS THIS MADNESS.
And thank you @___@;
Seriously! They tried to fire the president (our adviser was on our side, however, and stuck up for her) and then refused to do any of the cultural activities we planned. It was really just sad. I don't miss that club. I was only the secretary, but the VP kind of gave up on the club, and the president ended up promoting me to VP/Secretary and it was just us running it. Worst thing I've ever done, and I'm kind of glad the club died when we graduated. No one really deserved to keep it going...it was just madness.
♥
They REJECTED Japanese culture? What the fucking hell. And I thought people HERE were crazy idiots....
Did they take advantage of you too? ((I ask too many questions XD; ))
I was more behind the scenes. I'm actually rather quiet in situations like that, so I was the one keeping track, taking notes, and working out plans and the like behind the scenes.
*sigh* I remember one time...haha. It was the first time Narutard tried to take over and the president had left for a short time. The club was getting so loud and no one was paying attention to the VP who was still there and trying to run it. I got tired of it, and spoke up and told them to "Be quiet." Man...the looks on their faces. I think that's the first time they ever acknowledged me. VP then gave the control over to me to get them under control until the pres came back xP
But the club members themselves didn't try to take advantage of me since I normally was so behind the scenes. I was taken advantage of by the president, and subjected to much ranting but *shrug* oh well. It was definitely an experience I won't forget anytime soon xD
And I really don't mind the questions :)
Hmmm....random questions then. XD
Any annoying or horrible things that happened? That you're comfortable with telling me about it?
The second year, it started off ok, wound up with me, VP, pres, 2 random members, and 3 of our friends who weren't associated with the club doing it. That was annoying.
The third (and final year of the club since that's the year we graduated) we ended up not doing it because the Pres dropped the ball.
The club was held in the library. About halfway through the meeting (when we'd get to cultural stuff) the club members would scatter and go play games on the computer.
The president and I were on again off again friends. I was there to help run the club, she was there to run the club. We were both stubborn and had very similar personalities. We butted heads quite a few times...one of the members had to mediate between us during an officers' meeting at one point. (We generally got it worked out and were fine in front of the club itself, though)
Halloween/Cosplaying events were horrible. They wanted to do it. We set it up. They dressed up...but no one brought in the supplies they were supposed to have.
The final year, our adviser was told that she wouldn't be coming back the next year. So she started using up her sick days. On Tuesdays. Which were club days. So we had to find a new meeting area (thankfully, pres and I had a wonderful math teacher who filled in for us). That was hell.
Trying to pass the leadership of the club from us seniors to the next group was horrible. The club ended up dying after we graduated. Part of it was because the new president never found a teacher to be the adviser.
The club members were freaking annoying. They tried to talk over us. They thought they were amusing. They thought they were cute. They weren't.
Though, I will give them this...they didn't speak in random Japanese. They knew the difference between shonen-ai and yaoi. They did have a broader horizon than what was dubbed into English. I will give them those points. But from an officer stand point, the club was absolute hell...so I do feel for you XD
The Halloween thing, I understand that. They only care about cosplaying and stuff. Really lame people. @___@
Man, that seriously sucks. They sound like preps all over again. Preppy anime tards oh noes DX
but... how can you not like Death Note?!?!?!?! O_______O lol sorry i love it XDDDD
and oh well, at least you let it all out~
Yeah, Death Note doesn't APPEAL to me. Sorry X'D;; But I'm glad to hear your opinion. =3
I like Naruto too lol1) The anime fans who think they know everything, but if you ask them something common they'll be like "...what's that?" My friend doesn' know what a trap is, but I can't really blame her
I was exposed too early ^_^;2)People who think they are kool (notice spelling) if they get something japanese. !!? Really, it's just food/watever, I can buy that at the Asian store your not special (pssh I can got eat takoyaki at my friend's house and YOU can't cuz your too lame :P)
3) The whole list of anime you put down, I'm really surprised they didn't know prince of tennis, i thought it was popular...
4) I haven't seen anyone who is not interested in Japanese culture, WTF that's just not right, after the first time I watched anime I did a whole idependent Japan research (I even did some stuff on Samurais after listening to Japan's kyara songs)
5) "We just sit around and eat pocky" Okay I've only meet with the club once and I sound bored outta my mind. Do they even know that Pocky is the sound effect of eating the delicious biscuit >:I I swear I'm gonna do something the next Tuesday we meet, or else!
6) Okay I'm not really a fan of Yaoi but I know the difference between smex and just hands, i hate it when people think they are right and smart but they are dead wrong
7) Eurgh *insert more disgusted sounds* I also hate it when people are like "I LOVE JAPANESE PEOPLE, I WANNA BE JAPANESE TOO!!" i think I saw the shirt for the anime club when I was still in middle school and it's all "Im turning japanese!" dur~ really? I like japan as much as the next person but I still consider myself from my own coutry, plus I can SPEAK my language >_>
8) Okay this is probably my everyday HUGE pet peeve. People, please pronounce things well! do you think people are laughing because your speaking? Im laughing cuz you sound stupid. But I speak other language than english so I guess language sounds come to me naturally. I even disgust myself if I say something wrong lol (I remember talking to my friend before and said 'yoroshiku' worng and i went "ewww!?")
At least I'm also in the culture club, I'm always ready for that ^_^b
Prince of Tennis, is in fact, popular, but they know NOTHING about it. They claimed, "Oh I've heard of it! :B" But that's it.
They don't even know that pocky is the sound effect? xDDD LOL. They don't research into the fun facts. How boring of them.
Wtf? Turning Japanese? That's obviously not possible, whether it's physically or mentally. You grew up with your own culture and customs, it won't be so easy to convert.
When they pronounce things, they think they know how xD They do the fast talk kind of thing so they think they can sound like a fluent Japanese person.
That's good! Learn good cultures for me please! My school sucks and doesn't have any clubs that has to deal with the world -_-
I used to be a part of the one at my school, but that ended last year due to too much geekery--not obsessing over stuff like we do (lol something like that) but geeking over them, if you know what I mean.
Besides, all we did in there was watch various episodes from obscure animes ._.
Wow, that's a pretty limited knowledge of anime, if you ask me. I actually don't watch (or read, I guess) a lot of those that you listed >_> (I tried starting Bleach and Naruto, since I figured there MUST be something about it that gets SO MANY people, but... nothing caught me D:) Which reminds me, there was this girl in my club that always had a chibi L doll with her in her backpack, and she'd hiss and hold it to her if you even so much as looked at it o_o
And oh my god, those Japanese wannabes, fffffff so so SO annoying. It cracks me up when I hear them saying "OMG I loove NaRUto!" because they'd pronounce it like Nah-roo-toh xD
idk man, I have enough fun obsessing over stuff with my friends and online... shared interests ftw! 8DD
I actually think our club started getting better the year I left though orz because they had an art contest in the beginning and everything (with posters as prizes fffff) but I used to do homework during lunch a lot, so I had to leave for that, too... XD
PS, your icon = alksd;jfkjf <333
Geez, obsessive much? And yeah, I know what you mean by the Naruto and Bleach thing xD It never caught on me either. Well, it did(naruto), when I first got into anime, but it was short lived.
I'm not quite understanding you on this part. Sorry, my brain doesn't really work during weekends, but NaRUto? You mean the hit the "ru" a little hard? XD
The internet is the best...in my opinion.
Awwwww that sucks! I'm sorry! @.@; My club just gets worse as the used-to-be Freshmen, now Juniors, are taking over. -_-
Oh, I mean like... you know how when you pronounce Naruto in Japanese, the accent is on the first syllable, and the R is pronounced like a L? Somehow, in English, it's switched to an accent on the second syllable, with the Naruto part said like in... rooster asdf;lkj OTL long explanation xD
Yes, the Internet is best! haha though it does get a bit anti-socialesque, for me (not that I'm saying I mind...) xD
Ohhh I get what you're saying now. Yeah, the anime club says 'Naruto'....not...correctly xD;
Yes that's true. We can't hide from the idiots, not even on the internet.
Ah, what an anime club that is...
We can't, but it is easier to avoid/ignore them c:
